Cardiac Risk - Comprehensive Panel

The Comprehensive Cardiac Risk panel includes glucose, a diabetes-screening test, because diabetes has been identified as a major risk factor in heart disease. Two newly recognized risk factors are also included: high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and homocysteine. The hsCRP test looks for inflammation in the blood vessels that could signal a higher risk for heart attack or stroke. Homocysteine is an amino acid that plays a role in forming the lipid plaques that clog blood vessels.

Test Requirements

A fasting blood sample is needed.

Preparation for Your Test

Do not eat or drink anything but water for 12 hours prior to your testing.
Wear a short sleeved shirt or a shirt with sleeves that roll up easily.

Cost

The cost of this test is $75.00.
